Disney Accelerator Companies Show Off At Program's Third Demo Day

The Disney Accelerator, the startup accelerator run by The Walt Disney Program, concluded its third run of its program on Thursday, concluding with the presentation of its class of nine companies at its Demo Day in Burbank yesterday. The three month, startup accelerator program's participants this year included Ader (e-sports talent marketplace); Atom Tickets (social, mobile ticketing app for movies); Hanson Robotics (human-like robots); Jaunt (virtual reality publishing tools); littlebits (technology kits and toys); Nom (online community focused on food); OTOY (holographic content); Playbuzz (mobile content engagement software); and Pley (subscription toy service). Most of the new companies now have some kind of collaboration deal with Disney on some aspect of their technology, although none have yet reached the level of partnership that Disney managed with one of its first companies in the program, Sphero, and the company's robotic toy version of the Star Wars BB-8 robot.
