Disney, Google Link On Google Earth Tour

Burbank-based Walt Disney Parks and Resorts announced this morning that it has linked with Google's 3D mapping software, Google Earth, to allow Google Earth users and Disney guests to tour the firm's Walt Disney World Resort in 3D. According to Disney, it will offer virtual, 3D tours of all of Disney World's four theme parks, hotels, and resorts, and will include links to Disney's online travel planning tours. Financial details of the collaboration were not disclosed. Disney said the effort included eight photographers working for 10 days to shoot all of the visible surfaces of Walt Disney World, including every building facade, using over 100,000 photos to create the 3D models that populate the virtual tour.
