Disney Links With Japanese Social Games Firm DeNA

The Walt Disney Company has inked a deal with Japanese mobile and social gaming developer DeNA, to deliver social games to players worldwide, the two said Friday. According to the two, they have launched their first, jointly developed social game, Disney Party, in japan, and will be launching a second title, Disney Fantasy Quest in April, with a third title based on Marvel Comics characters launching this summer in Japan. Financial details of the deal between the two companies were not disclosed. Disney and DeNA said they will also create localized versions of the three titles--Disney Party, Disney Fantasy Quest and the Marvel-based title--which will be launched in July in North America, Europe, China, and South Korea. The companies explained that the agreement also calls for working together beyond social games, on such things as Disney movies, Disney TV programs and Disney smart phone apps.
