    Divx Certifies Mobile Phone


    San Diego-based DivX, a provider of encoding/decoding technology for digital video, announced today that it has certified a Windows Mobile-based cell phone from Samsung. DivX said that Samsung's Omnia has been certified by DivX for both its encoding and decoding technology. According to DivX, the certification is the first for a Windows Mobile-based phone. Samsung's Omnia includes ability to keep a media library and display videon the device, including ability to play videos directly to TV screens.
