San Diego-based DivX said Tuesday that the firm has entered into a new, two-year license agreement with consumer electronics firm Philips Electronics. According to DivX, the agreement calls for Philips to continue to include DivX video functionality in its DVD players, portable devices, digital televisions, and other products. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. DivX is a developer of video codec technology used to compress and decompress video content.
