    DivX Networks In Personal Video Recording Device


    San Diego-based DivX Networks said today that its technology has shipped in the first DivX Certified personal video recorder to market. Plextor will ship DivX technology in its Plextor ConvertX PX-TV402U personal video recorder with built-in TV tuner. The new Plextor product allows consumers to capture and encode broadcast, cable, or satellite TV onto a computer hard drive. DivX provides technology for compressing and decompressing video streams.
