    DivXNetworks Adds X Software

San Diego-based DivXNetworks has signed on another software provider to its DivX video compression technology, this week adding X Software, a provider of DVD and video software. X will use DivX video compression technology in its newly launched Video Vault product, which allows consumers to archive their video library. The archiving software helps customers convert and organize their video library and compress them for playback on DVD players, portable video players, and wireless media servers. DivXNetworks licenses its highly compressible video scheme to DVD manufacturers, software providers, and others looking to offer very high compression and quality playback.
