DoctorsDirect.com Becomes Xoova
Santa Monica-based DoctorsDirect.com, the online health related web site run by former AOL Mapquest head Tommy McGloin, has quietly become Xoova. Xoova now has profiles of 20,000 physicians on its site, which helps patients link up with doctors. The firm had raised $2.5M last October from Spark Capital, which was previously reported in socalTECH. According to Tommy McGloin, the firm's CEO, the company is in the planning on raising a Series B funding round worth around $5M early next year. McGloin said that DoctorsDirect.com became Zoova back in February.
