Carlsbad-based Document Sciences, which develops software for enterprise content management, has been acquired by EMC. EMC said Thursday that it will pay approximately $85M in cash for Document Sciences. EMC said it will pay $14.75 in cash for each share of Document Sciences, which is publicly held. The deal is expected to complete in the first quarter of calendar year 2008. EMC said that Document Sciences will become a business unit within the EMC Content Management and Archiving division.
