Document Sciences Acquisition Completes
Data storage giant EMC Corporation said Thursday afternoon that it has completed its acquisition of Carlsbad-based Document Sciences Corporation. The deal, which was originally announced in December, was worth $85.8M in cash. EMC said the acquisition will complement the firm in the area of enterprise content management. Document Sciences is a developer of software for managing personalized communications with customers, including things such as statements, contracts, marketing, and other correspondence. Document Sciences will become a business unit within EMC's Content Management and Archiving division.
