DTS Buys Firm

Agoura Hills-based Digital Theater Systems (DTS) has purchased Digital Booking Systems, an online booking service for cinema exhibitors and distributors. The firm said this morning that it has acquired the application service provider from FilmStew, a Hollywood-based online provider of news and reviews for the motion picture industry. Terms were not disclosed. Digital Booking Systems runs a web-based application for booking and scheduling of motion pictures. DTS said that the acquisition extends the company's commitment to delivering tools and products that expedite workflow for cinema exhibitors, distributors, as well as studios.
