EDF Renewable Energy Partners On 186 Megawatt Solar Project

San Diego-based solar and clean energy project developer EDF Renewable Energy said Thursday that it has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to tap into a 186 megawatt power project being build in Riverside County. According to the company, the agreement is with non-profit public electricity provider MCE. EDF Renwable Energy said the Desert Harvest Solar Project, being build on approximately 1,200 acres of land managed by the US Bureau of Land Management in Riverside County, is expected to begin delivering electricity in 2020. The project is expected to produce enough energy to meet the needs of 73,000 average California homes. Financial details of the PPA and project were not announced.
