eEye Appoints VP

Aliso Viejo-based eEye Digital Security said this morning that it has named Jim Smith as VP Field Sales. Smith was most recently EVP of Sales and Marketing at Starbase Corporation, which was acquired by Borland in 2003. Smith has also served at Select Software, Meridian, and Knowledgeware. eEye is developing vulnerability management software for managing enterprise security, and is backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and Insight Venture Partners.
