Elon Musk Aims To Connect, NYC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC With Hyperloop
Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla Motors, and who originated the idea of the ultra-high-speed "Hyperloop" transportation concept, said on Twitter on Thursday that he has received "verbal government approval" for a system that would connect New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington DC in a Hyperloop system. Musk was mum on details, and it's unclear what government agency would have been able to approve such an effort, especially without a significant amount of paperwork and formal approvals. Musk later tweeted that there was "still a lot of work needed to receive formal approval" and that followers should "let your local & federal elected representatives" know they support the effort.
Just received verbal govt approval for The Boring Company to build an underground NY-Phil-Balt-DC Hyperloop. NY-DC in 29 mins.
