Emulex Adds HBA Management For Microsoft Virtual Server

Costa Mesa-based HBA provider Emulex said Tuesday that it has rolled out new management software for managing host bus adapters in the Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 environment. The new product, VMPilot, simplifies creation of virtual machines attached to Fibre Channel storage area networks. The new tool takes advantage of Emulex support for the N-Port ID Virtualization standard. The new beta software is scheduled to be available in Q1 of 2007. Emulex is a manufacturer of hardware used to connect servers into storage area networks.
