Costa Mesa-based host bus adapter manufacturer Emulex Corp. announced yetserday that it has delivered new technology that allows its HBA products to work better with the popular VMware virtualization software. Emulex said it has delivered LightPulse Virtual Host Adapter technology for VMware environments, which allows the firm's HBAs to work better under VMware operating systems and data storage networks. The technology gives each virtual machine a dedicated address on a storage network, versus prior technology which shared those addresses across a physical machine. The technology is based on an emerging standard around N-Port ID virtualization.
