    Emulex Gives $1.5M To UCI


    UC Irvine said Thursday that Emulex Corporation has provided the firm's Henry Samueli School of Engineering with $1.5M to endow a electrical engineering and computer science faculty position. UCI said the funding for the new Emulex Endowed Chair in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science will be used to support teaching, research and service activities of the faculty, which will be hired in the position. Emulex is a Costa Mesa-based developer of storage area networking components, including host bus adapters and switches.
