Entropic, D-Link Connect on Home Networking Hardware
San Diego-based Entropic Communications and D-Link said earlier this week that the two have partnered on a home networking bridge. The two have rolled out the D-Link DXN-220, which is a MoCA compliant bridge for the digital home entertainment market. MoCA, Multimedia over Coax, is a industry initiative to provide a standard protocol for distributing digital video and entertainment over existing coax fiber. The new hardware connects Ethernet to coax wiring, and uses Entropic's chipsets to stream video, music, and other data to home entertainment systems.
