Eventful Targets Politics
San Diego-based online events listing web site Eventful has set its sights on the political advertising market, saying today that it is offering congressional, state, and local candidates tools and event widgets to support their web strategies. According to Eventful, it has rolled out tools to help candidates promote their activities through the web. The firm said that a number of politicians have integrated the firm's Eventful Demand and other tools as part of their campaign efforts. Eventful Demand is the firm's feature which allows online users to request events in their home towns; the tool has heavily been used by music bands to figure out where their fans want them to play concerts. In this case, Eventful said that the free service is being used by candidates to track where their supporters most want them to come and speak.
