Evite Launches Mobile App

Los Angeles-based Evite, the online event planning service which is owned by IAC, said today that it has launched a new mobile applications for planning casual get-togethers. The new QuickVite application -- which also works on the web -- is targeted at helping Evite users coordinate informal outings with friends. According to Evite, the application makes it possible for peple to send out inivitations and respond using both email or text messages, from either computers or mobile phones. The firm is tapping technology from Air2Web for the mobile functionality.
