FarStone Signs Deal With Intel
Irvine-based storage software provider Farstone Technology announced that it has signed a deal with Intel Corp. to bundle Farstone's RestoreIT, VirtualDrive, and GameDrive software utilities on selected Intel Desktop motherboards. Farstone's utilities help users protect and back up their system drives locally, and can be used to create local images of CD and DVD images which run from the hard drive. The bundled solution will ship with Intel's 945/955 Express-based motherboards, which are targeted to white box system builders and integrators. Intel white box integrators take Intel motherboards and build private-labeled systems, often targeted at vertical markets. The Intel motherboard series covered includes their Executive, Media and Extreme edition Series platforms.
