FBI: Sony Hack Traced To North Korea

The FBI officially confirmed that it has concluded that the devastating hack of Sony Pictures Entertainment was due to North Korea, according to an official statement by the agency. The official acknowledgement of the U.S.'s conclusions had been widely expected today. The FBI said "North Korea's attack on SPE reaffirms that cyber threats pose one of the gravest national security dangers to the United States" saying that "Such acts of intimidation fall outside the bounds of acceptable state behavior." The FBI said it was working with other departments and agencies to "identify, pursue, and impose costs and consequences on individuals, groups, or nation states who use cyber means to threaten the United States or U.S. interests."
