Fulcrum, AMCC Roll Switch Reference Design
Calabasas-based Fulcrum Microsystems and Applied Micro Circuits Corporation said today that that they have introduced a new reference design for 10 Gigabit Ethernet Switches. Fulcrum is a designer of clockless semiconductors used for high speed Ethernet switch chips. AMCC and Fulcrum said their new SFP+ 10 Gigabit Ethernet switch reference design combines AMCC's physical layer ICs and Fulcrum's switch chip and software. The new design is geared towards allowing manufacturers to build their own Ethernet switches. The reference design covers a 24-port, SFP+ 10 GbE switch.
