AMCC Buys PowerPC Assets

San Diego-based AMCC (www.amcc.com) has acquired the assets of IBM's PowerpC 400 RISC processors, according to the companies. The deal calls for IBM to manufacture the processors for AMCC, and for AMCC to handle all sales for the processor line. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
