Metapa Ships Cluster Database Platform

Sherman Oaks-based Metapa (www.metapa.net) is unveiling the company's new Cluster DataBase (CDB) software for Linux-based business intelligence functions. The new database clustering platform allows companies to deploy very large databases through inexpensive clusters of Linux or Solaris machines. The company's new database software is targeted at telco, entertainment media, and other businesses with large data volumes. The company claims its cluster database provides a 10 to 50 times boost in query and insert times, runs on commodity harware, and provides linear scalability. Metapa is backed by DawnTreader Ventures, Hudson Ventures, Royal Wulff Ventures, Saints Ventures, and Impact Venture Partners.
