Picasa Price Tag: $4.7M in Pre-IPO Google Stock

The Wall Street Journal reports that search engine leader Google paid a total of $4.7M in stock for Pasadena-based Picasa, the digital photo management software company that it acquired last month. The acquisition amount was disclosed in a filing with the SEC last week. Picasa is backed by Idealab, and offers a photo management software suite for Windows computer users. Google did not reveal the amount of the acquisition last month when it announced the deal, and no other terms of the deal were made public with the SEC filing.
