Pfizer Plants Roots In La Jolla

Drug discovery giant Pfizer announced this morning that it has planted permanent roots in the company's La Jolla facility, spending $372M to purchase the company's R&D campus there. The campus, which is working on new medicines in cancer, HIV, Hepatitis, Blindness, and Diabetes/Obesity, spans 33 acres and includes 1 million square feet of laboratory and office space. The company said that it has already invested more than $150M in improvements to the campus over the last 3 years. Pfizer's La Jolla facility employes more than 1500 scientists and support staff.
