Jazz Scores Wireless Chip Win

Taiwanese wireless LAN developer Airoha Technology has tapped Newport Beach-based Jazz Semiconductor for its SiGe BiCMOS chip technology. Airoha said that it will manufacture its 802.11a/b/g transceiver with integrated power amplifiers using the Jazz 0.35um Silicon Germanium (SiGe) BiCMOS process platform. Airoha is targeting a 70 percent reduction in wireless Bill of Materials (BOM) cost, allowing manufacturers to provide better 802.11b/g solutions. Airoha tapped Jazz for its RF transceivers since 2003.
