Green Hills Shows Auto Infotainment Platform

Santa Barbara-based embedded tools maker Green Hills Software unveiled a new automotive infotainment platform yesterday in conjunction with Analog Devices. The companies unveiled a reference platform built on Green Hills' embedded environment supporting speech recognition, text-to-speech, echo cancellation, Bluetooth capability, GPS, navigation, MP3 support, and more. The car infotainment system is intended for use by automotive manufacturers to enhance their next generation automobiles. The company said that the platform, based on an Analog Devices Blackfin processor, is designed for reliable, secure systems for automotive use. Green Hills develops embedded operating systems and development tools, used by companies for real time, embedded equipment and systems.
