CarsDirect Acquires 1-800 Communications
Los Angeles-based CarsDirect has acquired a provider of special finance auto leads to dealers, 1-800 Communications, the company announced this morning. 1-800 Communications matches consumers with a poor credit rating with finance options and auto dealers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. CarsDirect said that the addition would generate high incremental sales for its dealer network. The CarsDirect Special Finance Program will provide leads to dealers, allowing them to select which market areas and how many leads they want to purchase. 1-800 Communications founder Stuart Heller will join CarsDirect at its Los Angeles headquarters.
