    Apple Rolls Out Podcasting

Apple Computer this morning said that it has rolled out Podcasting support in the latest revision of its iTunes music download service. iTunes 4.9 adds the ability to search for and subscribe to Podcast broadcasts through the popular iTunes store, for download to computer and to Apple's popular iPod music player. Apple said that the new Podcast Directory will feature over 3,000 free audio programs, highlighting content from ABC News, BBC, Disney, and Los Angeles-based NPR station KCRW. Podcasting is the download of audio programs to portable music players such as the iPod, a popular, alternative use of now widely distributed MP3 music players.
