Breach Partners With Sourcefire

Carlsbad-based Breach Security has partnered with Sourcefire, the creaters of the Snort intrusion detection tool. The two companies said they will combine Sourcefire's intrusion management and network discovery tools with Breach's SSL decryption appliance. The combination allows companies to better monitor their networks for possible hacking attempts through SSL, by allowing Sourcefire to monitor decrypted SSL traffic for attack analysis. The companies said that hackers have been using SSL technology to evade detection by network intrusion detection and prevention systems.
