Calabasas-based Emergent Game Technologies, and North Carolina based NDL said this morning that the two firms have merged. The combined company will combine its online game infrastructure, and 3D graphics technology, focused on massively multiplayer online video games. Emergent is formerly Butterfly.net, which relocated to the LA area from Martinsburg, West Virginia. Butterfly received funding from JVP, Worldview, and other investors before its relocation. The company's software is used for the entertainment and military simulation industry.
