QAD Founders Fund UCSB Computer Science Chair

Santa Barbara-based University of California Santa Barbara is reporting that Karl and Pamela Lopker, founders of software firm QAD, have established an endowment for chair of Computer Science at UCSB. The endowment will support teaching and research activities in computer science, part of the school's College of Engineering. The chair will be named the Venkatesh Marayanamurti chair after a former UCSB professor. The Lopkers were founders of QAD, a developer of MRP software for manufacturing firms. Both are graduates of UCSB. Karl Lopker holds a degree in electrical and computer engineering and Pamela Lopker mathematics and economics from the school.
