Broadcom In Motorola Q Win

Irvine-based Broadcom has been designed into Motorola's new Mobile Q handset, the company said today. Broadcom said that its wireless Bluetooth silicon and software is integrated into the Moto Q Smartphone, and marks the first major handset that uses the company's Widcomm software. Broadcom purchased San Diego-based Widcomm for its Bluetooth software in 2004. Broadcom's software supports the Windows Mobile 5.0 platform. The software is being used to power connections to PCs, allow for audio streaming to the handset, and other PC integration.
