Raytheon To Close Goleta Operations

Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems said late Thursday that it plans to close the firm's Goleta-based operations in early 2008. The firm said that it plans to transfer civil space work at the facility to its operations in El Segundo, and will close its Santa Barbara Remote Sensing operation in early 2008. The move affect 250 employees, who the firm said will either be affected by attrition, transfer, or layoff. Raytheon's two other Goleta businesses, Electronic Warfare Systems and Vision Systems are not affected.
