Tech Coast Angels Award Fast Pitch LA Winners

The Tech Coast Angels Los Angeles Fast Pitch was held last night at UCLA's Anderson School as part of Los Angeles Technology Week, bringing together a panel of successful CEOs and an opportunity for 14 companies to give a one minute pitch on their companies. The panel, made up of Scott Jarus of Cognition, Matt Coffin of LowerMyBills, Demian Sellfors of MediaTemple, Mike Jones of Userplane/AOL, and Kamran Pourzanjani of Pricegrabber, gave their advice to the audience on topics ranging from hiring employees, finding funding, and how to make your company successful.

A slate of companies also gave 60 second pitches to a panel of angel, venture investors, and others, with the opportunity to win screening sessions with the Tech Coast Angels. Best company went to Leads360, a company providing leads management software, with the best combined score in both pitch and investment quality; best presentation was a tie, going to both Axiotron, which develops Mac tablet PCs; and PetPlay, which manufactures upscale cat food. For best investment opportunity, RxAdvantage, which develops calendaring and scheduling services for pharmaceutical sales reps, was awarded the prize. Other companies pitching at the event were MyNumo (mobile content), Ecorntech (renewable MDF fiberboard), DigiContractor (measurement software), Dogtown Poker (online gaming), Convisia (document management), Metabeam (DVD menus), Conscious Society (eco-friendly business clothing), and SmartWear (smart fibers).
