Gemstar-TV Guide, CBS In Programming Guide Deal

Los Angeles-based Gemstar-TV Guide International said yesterday that it is in a long term data distribution and advertising agreement with CBS Corporation. The deal covers distribution of the TV Guide On Screen interactive program guide on CBS owned and operated stations, and participating affiliates. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The agreement calls for CBS to transmit TV Guide On Screen data with their digital broadcast signals, which allows any digital television or digital recording device to decode programming choices.
