Digirad Acquires Ultrascan

Poway-based Digirad said Wednesday morning that it has acquired Ultrascan, a provider of mobile ultrasound and nuclear medicine services, in a deal worth $7.25M in cash plus acquisition of $1.5M in debt. Digirad is a manufacturer of solid state cameras used for cardiovascular imaging, for physician offices and hospitals. The deal also includes up to $3.85M in cash and stock based on earning milestones. Ultrascan operates a fleet of 32 mobile ultrasound units used by physicians and hospitals in Georgia.
