Broadcom Designs Gain 802.11n Certification

Communications semiconductor manufacturer Broadcom Corp. announced earlier this week that its Intensi-fi router and client-reference designs have achieved Wi-Fi 802.11n Draft 2.0 certification. Broadcom said its designs had to prove they could work seamlessly with other Wi-Fi Certified 802.11n products in order to gain the certification. The company added that two of its dual-band router and client-reference designs will become a part of the Wi-Fi Alliance's 802.11n test environments. In other words, additional products hoping to gain Wi-Fi 802.11n certification must prove compatibility with the two Broadcom designs. Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., Broadcom manufactures semiconductors for wired and wireless communications.
