MySpace Premieres Series From thirtysomething Creators

Los Angeles-based online social networking web site MySpace said this morning that it will premiere a new online series from Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick, the duo behind "My So-Called Life," "thirtysomething," "Legends of the Fall," and "Blood Diamond." According to MySpace, the new online series, "quarterlife," will be a "network-quality" series producted directly for the Internet. MySpace will distribute the series on its MySpaceTV effort, and will include a dedicated video channel and profile page. The online series will include 36, 8-minute original episodes. The deal is the latest in a string of efforts by professional producers to develop original, Internet-only content for the web, most notably Michael Eisner's "Prom Queen," which also ran a promotion through MySpace.
