MySpace Launches Ad-Supported Mobile Service

Fox Interactive Media said today that MySpace, the firm's social networking web site, is launching new, free mobile web services as part of a new, ad-supported mobile Web site effort. FIM said that its MySpace Mobile Web service will be available to consumers this week in beta, and will be supported by advertising. FIM also said that it will be launching mobile sites for several of the company's other Web brands, including IGN, FoxSports.com, AskMen, and RottenTomatoes.com, at the same time. Fox has tapped Millenial Media for its mobile advertising. MySpace previously offered its social networking service on mobile phones in conjunction with the wireless carriers, for $2.99 a month.
