MySpace Adds New Music Program

Los Angeles-based MySpace said today that it has rolled out a new program for distributing exclusive music video content. The social networking site said that "MySpace Transmissions" will allow artists to record and sell content exclusively on MySpace, including both video and audio tracks. MySpace said the first feature who will be featured in the program will be James Blunt, who has recorded five tracks exclusively for MySpace. The firm said that other artists will be announced in coming weeks. According to the company, all of the content from MySpace Transmissions will be archived and available through MySpaceTV and user profiles. MySpace is a unit of Fox Interactive Media.
