Edgecast Networks Raises $6M From Steamboat
Los Angeles-based EdgeCast Networks is announcing today that it has raised $6M in a Series B financing, in a deal led by Steamboat Ventures. Steamboat is the venture capital fund associated with The Walt Disney COmpany. EdgeCast is a content delivery network (CDN) provider focused on rich media. According to EdgeCast, it had added Scott Hilleboe of Steamboat Ventures and Jeffrey Stible of Website Pros to its board as part of the funding. EdgeCast's angel investors, which include Mark Amin, Chairman of CinemaNow, and Jon Feltheimer, CEO of Lionsgate Films, also participated in the funding. EdgeCast said the round brings the company's total raised in funding to more than $10M.
