Qlogic Links With Sun

Aliso Viejo-based storage networking hardware provider QLogic said Tuesday that Sun Microsystems is now offering the firm's SANbox 9200 Fibre Channel switches as part of its storage networking portfolio. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Sun Microsystems will offer the switch to its enterprise storage customers. QLogic's director switch supports up to 256 ports of Fibre Channel network switching and also includes fault tolerance and high availability capability. QLogic is a manufacturer of controller chips, host bus adapters, switches for Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and Infiniband protocols.
