    Symwave Nabs Broadcom Exec For CEO Position


    San Diego-based Symwave, a supplier of analog and mixed signal semiconductors, said Tuesday that it has hired on Yossi Cohen as the firm's President and CEO. Cohen was most recently Senior Vice President and Group General Manager of Broadcom's Mobile Platforms Group, and had previously managed both Broadcom's Bluetooth and Gigabit controller businesses. As part of the hire, Symwave said that it will open a new headquarters in Orange County, California to augment its existing San Diego office. Symwave is backed by Kodiak Venture Partners, CMEA, and others. the firm develops high speed, serial physical layer ICs (PHYs) and analog front end ICs.
