Clupedia Looks For Buyer

Santa Ana-based Clupedia, a developer of browser plug-ins that allow users to comment on any web page, is looking for a buyer, socalTECH has learned. Clupedia's software allows users to download and make comments about any web page they visit, adding ratings and comments about those pages. David Saad, the firm's founder, Chairman, and CEO, declined to comment on the move, however a memo leaked from the firm's board said that the company's traction has proven to be "less than venture capitalists would like to see," forcing the firm to seek a strategic buyer. Clupedia has previously raised capital from a number of angel groups; the firm's software is similar to tools available from StumbleUpon and others for rating and reviewing web sites.
