DivX Gets Pioneer Win

San Diego-based DivX, a developer of codec technology for encoding digital video, said Monday that the firm's technology is being included in four new Blu-ray players from Pioneer. Financial impact of the design wins were not disclosed. According to DivX, Pioneer has included the firm's technology in the BDP-LX71, BDP-LX08, BDP-51FD Blue-ray players. DivX licenses its encoding/decoding technology to consumer electronics firms.
