CoreValve Expands Board

CoreValve Inc., a designer and manufacturer of artificial replacement components for the human heart, reported earlier this week that it has appointed Frank Fischer to its board of directors. The Irvine, Calif.-based company described Fischer as a 25-year veteran of the medical device industry who has sat on NeuroPace's board of directors since 1998 and served as that company's chief executive officer since January 2000. Before joining NeuroPace, CoreValve said, Fischer was president, CEO and director of Heartport Inc. Prior to that, he held the same roles at Ventritex Inc. He also spent 10 years at Cordis Corp.
