Xirrus Deploys In Hawaii

Thousand Oaks-based Xirrus, a manufacturer of Wi-Fi networking equipment, said Wednesday that the firm's Wi-Fi arrays have been deployed at the W.M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Xirrus said that the firm's 802.11abg+n products are replacing switched Ethernet to the desktop at the mountain-top facility. The W.M. Keck Observatory is located at 13,796 feet on the top of the Mauna Kea volcano, and is used for astronomy.
